University Archives

The ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ University Archives (UA) serves to support the University's mission as the institutional repository for records of enduring value and to preserve and make available institutional memory of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ (ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½) and Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU).  

The ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Archives supports institutional needs by:

  • teaching, outreach and curriculum enrichment
  • developing creative products supporting milestones, anniversaries and significant events in the life of the university
  • assisting departments, staff and administrators with reference requests about the history of SPSU and ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½.

In accordance with legal requirements, professional standards, institutional policies, and donor agreements, the University Archives and Special Collections provides open access to the collections under its care.

North Georgia Collections

Our North Georgia Special Collections are made up of materials that were not created by ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ or Southern Polytechnic State University. The Archives acquires records that provide evidence of the activities of individuals and groups in North and Northwest Georgia.

These include:

  • personal or family papers
  • organization records
  • local publications
  • research collections
  • audio-visual and digital recordings
